These 10 players, five from each side, are reportedly set to miss Tuesday's clash at Kenilworth Road

Two former Premier League sides are going to battle in League One this Tuesday when Luton Town welcome Huddersfield Town to Kenilworth Road.

Both teams come into this midweek clash off the back of two completely different performances on Saturday. Luton were well beaten away at Barnsley, losing 5-0, while Huddersfield were convincing in their 3-1 away win at Mansfield Town.

The game sees two of the more promising up-and-coming managers in the third tier lock horns, as both Jack Wilshere and Lee Grant continue to find their feet in the dugout, and hope to get one up on each other this Tuesday.

Both sets of managers are having to navigate several injuries as we head further into the winter period. Here's who is expected to miss Tuesday's match.

Nahki Wells

Luton's injury list increased on Saturday, as Nahki Wells was withdrawn 20 minutes into the 5-0 defeat at Barnsley.

Whilst the extent of the injury is yet to be disclosed, there are expectations that Tuesday may be too quick of a turnaround for the 35-year-old.

Shandon Baptiste

The 27-year-old has missed the last 11 League One games and is set to be absent for the rest of the campaign.

Elijah Adebayo

Striker Elijah Adebayo has been out since April 5, when he also suffered an ACL injury in a game against Leeds United.

The 27-year-old isn't set to make his return until the new year, but Luton will take some confidence in the fact that he was able to partake in some very light training with his teammates in late October.

Jordan Clark

Influential midfielder Jordan Clark continues his layoff from a calf injury, which has seen him miss the last three.

It's been reported that the 32-year-old, who has chipped in with three goals in 12 League One outings this season, will be absent for the rest of the month.

Ali Al-Hamadi

Unfortunately, Ali Al-Hamadi's career at Luton hasn't really gotten out of the starting blocks after arriving on loan from Ipswich Town.

The Iraqi international made his league debut for the Hatters from the bench in their 3-0 win over Stockport County, but then sustained a quad injury on international duty.

This saw him miss Barnsley, and will likely see him miss Huddersfield, too.

Marcus McGuane

Lee Grant was able to welcome back several players from injury after the international break, but there are still a handful of players who will definitely be unavailable for Tuesday's game.

Marcus McGuane hasn't featured since late August, after he suffered a setback following his return from a groin injury.

The former Bristol City man has featured just once for the Terriers since he arrived from Ashton Gate in the summer.

Jack Whatmough

Defender Jack Whatmough is another player who has hit a few roadblocks in the short time at his new club, having been absent with a calf injury for over two months.

Last week, Lee Grant stated that the 29-year-old is still "a few weeks away" from a return, so he'll miss the trip to Luton on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old was a regular feature in Grant's sides through the opening months of the campaign, but has been missing for the last two months, and is expected to be out for even longer, after he had to see a specialist about the issue.

Will Alves

Leicester City loanee Will Alves had to undergo surgery on a freak foot injury in late September, which will keep him out for "months."

The 20-year-old has had his fair share of injury issues already in his career, as an ACL injury scuppered parts of his development at Leicester before he went out on loan last season to Cardiff City.

Terriers fans will be hoping for a return soon, after a bright start to his time at the club.

Zepiqueno Redmond

And another bright star on loan at Huddersfield is in the midst of a long period out, as Zepiqueno Redmond was confirmed to be out for "months" with a knee injury he sustained in late September.

Like Alves, Redmond had found the net in his limited time on the field, and Huddersfield will be hoping that the Aston Villa loanee can continue his rapid development as and when he returns.
