Leeds United have lost Noah Okafor for two to four weeks after the winger suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday’s FA Cup win over Birmingham City. He is set to miss Aston Villa and Manchester City.
According to Leeds Live, the summer arrival from AC Milan has had several muscle issues, though he had only missed one matchday squad before this setback. Daniel Farke said players with Okafor’s speed can be more vulnerable and he cannot protect him from every risk.
In better news, Anton Stach is back in training ahead of the trip to Villa after missing the last three matches with a hip flexor problem. The £17million German has started 20 Premier League games this season, registering three goals and three assists. Farke praised his blend of physicality, tactical nous and set-piece threat, and noted his rapid adaptation since pre-season.
Pascal Struijk also returns from a hip issue after sitting out the Chelsea draw and the Birmingham win. Before that, he had started every league game since 23 November as Leeds switched to a back three.
Daniel James, withdrawn from the FA Cup tie with a back complaint as a precaution, is back in training. The Welshman has already missed 15 games this season through various setbacks.
