Leeds to host RB Leipzig at Elland Road before Dublin date with Man Utd | OneFootball

Elland Road will stage a pre-season friendly against RB Leipzig on the weekend of 8/9 August, days before Leeds United face Manchester United in Dublin.

Leeds Live reports that the date replaces a previously arranged Manchester United friendly, with the Leipzig fixture planned for that weekend. The game has been in the pipeline for months and details are being finalised.

Leeds’ summer includes a first visit to the USA in 29 years, following the World Cup. Daniel Farke’s side play Wrexham in Tampa on 25 July, Sunderland in New Jersey on 30 July and Liverpool in Chicago on 2 August.

After returning to Yorkshire, they will host Leipzig, then travel to Croke Park to meet Manchester United on Wednesday, 12 August, with a 7.30pm kick-off.

Those quickfire dates fall less than two weeks before the 2026/27 Premier League begins on the weekend of 22/23 August. Leeds then have around 10 days free before starting their second Premier League campaign under Farke.

RB Leipzig’s majority owners, Red Bull, have held a minority stake in Leeds since the start of the 2024/25 season, when Farke’s team won the Championship title. The company has been front-of-shirt sponsor for two years.
