Leeds United have added Greek businessman Andreas Dracopoulos to their board after a personal investment. The club said in a statement that he will help lead their bid to become an established Premier League side.
Dracopoulos and chairman Paraag Marathe have known each other for years, and he had discussed investing in the club for some time.
He is co-chairman of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, a private international philanthropic organisation that funds projects worldwide. The foundation has supported more than 3,100 nonprofits, and he has backed education, arts and culture, and medicine over decades.
Born and raised in Athens, he has been a long-time supporter, first taking an official Leeds membership 50 years ago. He brings extensive business and philanthropic experience to the club and community.
He joins a board comprising chairman Paraag Marathe, vice-chairman Andrew Schwartzberg, and members Peter Lowy, Eugene Schneur and Robbie Evans.
