Leeds United add performance analyst Matthew Jenkins after Cardiff boss praise | OneFootball

Leeds United have added performance analyst Matthew Jenkins to their backroom team ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League season.

Wales Online reports that he has completed a move to Elland Road, and his LinkedIn profile now lists him in the first-team setup at Leeds.

Jenkins spent eight years at Cardiff City, starting in 2018 as an under-23 performance analyst before becoming head first-team performance analyst last season.

He worked closely with head coach Brian Barry-Murphy as the Bluebirds finished second in League One, securing promotion to the Championship. That campaign proved to be his final year at the club.

Barry-Murphy said last summer that Jenkins, a long-serving staff member he called Cardiff through and through, produced work of the highest quality. The manager added that a key aim was to retain exceptional staff and that Jenkins had blown him away.

Jenkins arrives in West Yorkshire with a strong reputation following that stint alongside Barry-Murphy.
