Leeds United appoint ‘exceptional’ analyst Matthew Jenkins from Cardiff City | OneFootball

Leeds United have appointed performance analyst Matthew Jenkins to their first-team staff ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League season. Wales Online reports that the former Cardiff City head analyst has completed his move to Elland Road.

Jenkins spent eight years with the Bluebirds, starting as an under-23 performance analyst in 2018. He rose to lead the first-team analysis department last season.

Working alongside head coach Brian Barry-Murphy, Cardiff finished second in League One to secure promotion to the Championship. That campaign was his final year at the club.

Barry-Murphy credited Jenkins as a long-serving figure whose work was of the highest quality. He described him as exceptional at his job and said collaborating with him had blown him away.

Jenkins’ LinkedIn profile lists his current role as Leeds’ first-team performance analyst. He arrives in West Yorkshire with a strong reputation after his work under Barry-Murphy.
