Jaka Bijol has earned a place in the Premier League Team of the Week after anchoring Leeds United’s rearguard in Sunday’s 0-0 at Crystal Palace.

Forced to play the entire second half with 10 men after Gabriel Gudmundsson’s controversial dismissal before the break, Leeds restricted Palace to zero shots on target, the first time that has happened to a side reduced before half-time. Deeney hailed him as aggressive, lauding his aerial dominance and organisation, and noted he kept his discipline after a booking.
