Leeds United end their 2025/26 Premier League campaign at West Ham on Sunday, and for several players it could be farewell. The Whites have been safe for two weeks at kick-off, with travelling supporters expecting a calm afternoon, unlike their hosts.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Elland Road decision-makers are preparing for a busy summer, with reinforcements needed for Daniel Farke’s squad. 49ers Enterprises have also been clear that Leeds are a trading club at this stage, so departures are likely.
Illan Meslier could wave goodbye, his deal is up this summer and after zero minutes all season he looks virtually guaranteed to leave. Karl Darlow is also out of contract but remains first choice and in fine form, a new agreement would keep competition for the number one spot. Alex Cairns has not featured, yet his defined squad role and dressing-room value suggest retention.
Sam Byram may also be nearing the exit. His late introduction against Brighton last weekend felt like a home farewell, and he has spoken about wanting more football before retiring. Pascal Struijk enters his final year and would fetch profit after arriving for virtually nothing in 2018, but hopefully he stays for his leadership and left-footed balance.
Ao Tanaka is in the hopefully stay camp, although he could move if midfield signings arrive and sales are needed. Signed for under three million pounds, he offers profit, yet recent form and unique in-possession qualities argue to keep him.
