Leeds United were without several seniors against Wrexham on Sunday, with four injuries including Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Jaka Bijol.

According to Leeds Live, Gabriel Gudmundsson and new centre-back Tarik Muharemovic were omitted only because they joined late after post-World Cup breaks. Noah Okafor is not on tour after Switzerland reached the quarter-finals, Brenden Aaronson is due back soon, and Ao Tanaka played the second half of the 3-2 defeat.

Calvert-Lewin has had a setback in his individual programme and is training alone at the US camp to rejoin team sessions. The issue is unspecified but described as minor. He was available for every Premier League match after his debut last season.

Bijol picked up a knee problem before the game, with no severity disclosed. Bornauw also missed out with a very small issue, a precaution, and could feature against Sunderland on Friday morning in New Jersey. Bijol’s only setback last term was a muscle issue that cost three games.

Gruev is still recovering from an April meniscus injury that ruled him out of the final six matches last season. He has returned in some capacity for pre-season but needs time to reach fitness, and being on tour may hint at a run-out before the trip ends.
