According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds United minority investor Will Ferrell helped launch the 2026 FIFA World Cup at a star-studded pre-event party in Los Angeles.
The official launch was held on Tuesday at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The tournament begins on Thursday when joint-hosts Mexico face South Africa in the Group A opener.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino was among those in attendance alongside Hollywood stars, with Ferrell posing for photos at the event.
The Hollywood megastar became the latest celebrity investor in Leeds in 2024 as part of the wider 49ers Enterprises vehicle.
The 58-year-old has been a regular at Elland Road since.
