Leeds United face a Karl Darlow setback, with the goalkeeper weighing rival Premier League offers after his Elland Road exit.
The Daily Mail reports that Everton and Manchester United have tabled contracts for the 35-year-old, with Leeds also understood to have put terms forward as he contemplates his next step.
Darlow replaced £16million summer signing Lucas Perri in January and finished the campaign as Daniel Farke’s first choice, starting 22 league games and keeping five clean sheets. His deal expired this week, after Leeds said last month that talks were ongoing but no agreement has been reached.
Everton and United are eyeing back-up options to Jordan Pickford and Senne Lammens respectively, so any move there might limit minutes. Darlow is also believed to have held talks with Tottenham before they signed Martin Dubravka following his Burnley free-agent exit.
Regular football would most likely come at Leeds, given how last season ended, although dislodging Pickford or Lammens would be a far tougher task. His homegrown status and proven top-flight experience make him a low-risk squad addition with no fee attached.
The position at Leeds remains unsettled. Darlow is out of contract, Perri’s debut year raised doubts, Illan Meslier has departed and has since been linked as a potential back-up for Premier League champions Arsenal, while Alex Cairns is said to have agreed fresh terms. Interest in Parma’s Japan international Zion Suzuki is noted, but there is no active pursuit.
