Leeds United reached the fifth round of the FA Cup after a penalty shoot-out at Birmingham City, the tie finishing 1-1 after 120 minutes. According to Leeds Live, these are the player ratings.

Lukas Nmecha laboured before the break but cut inside to rifle the opener soon after half-time, his seventh of the season. Leeds survived scares from open play and set-pieces before the hosts levelled in the 89th minute when Patrick Roberts’ long-range strike deflected off James Justin and beat Lucas Perri.

Extra time brought chances for both, but no breakthrough. In the shoot-out Perri saved one and Sean Longstaff slotted the winner.

Perri seven, sharp early and saved in the shoot-out despite one missed punch and a stray free-kick. Justin seven, positive and mostly secure, a header went close and the leveller deflected off him. Bijol seven, assured with key interventions and headers, threatened at set-pieces. Bornauw six, patchy despite some last-ditch work. Gudmundsson seven, main first-half outlet down the left.

Ao Tanaka five, rusty and too easily played around. Longstaff six, tidy in spells and faded in extra time. Buonanotte three, bullied and withdrawn at half-time.

Gnonto four, little influence in advanced areas. Nmecha seven, much improved after the interval. Okafor six, some bright runs but limited end product, departed injured.

Subs: Bogle six, Ampadu seven, Aaronson six, Piroe four, Calvert-Lewin six, Rodon six. Manager Daniel Farke five.
