Leeds United were held to a 1-1 draw at Everton, a contest split sharply between two halves, as their wait for a first Premier League away win since September continued.

Leeds dominated before the break and struck first when James Justin powered in just before the half-hour from an Anton Stach cross. After the interval, Everton wrestled control, Karl Darlow denied Iliman Ndiaye soon after the hour, then Thierno Barry levelled with a little over 10 minutes left, getting in front of Sebastiaan Bornauw to convert a cross.

Leeds Live notes that Jayden Bogle delivered one of his best first halves of the season and earned eight, as did Darlow for his saves. Joe Rodon impressed in the duels and also scored eight, while Pascal Strujik stayed composed throughout for eight. Justin was diligent and rated eight, narrowly short of nine after one sloppy pass.

Bornauw had seven after a mixed display that included a big block on Ndiaye. Stach was seven with the assist, Ethan Ampadu anchored midfield for seven, and Ilia Gruev took a yellow before going off. Brenden Aaronson shone early for eight but faded, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin hit the post from six yards and ended with seven.

Ao Tanaka replaced Gruev on 66 minutes and was seven. Late changes for Sean Longstaff, Noah Okafor and Facundo Buonanotte on 85 minutes came too late to rate. Manager Daniel Farke was marked seven, his initial setup excellent but his second wave of substitutes arriving too late, an opportunity not quite seized.
