The Athletic are reporting that Wilson will receive a higher salary at Leeds than he did with Fulham, with the 29-year-old having turned down a contract extension at Craven Cottage. Aston Villa and Everton had been linked with Wilson, but he has opted for a new challenge with Leeds.

The transfer follows Leeds' failed attempt to sign Wilson last summer. A £7m move to Leeds collapsed on deadline day during last summer's transfer window, after the deal sheet was not submitted before the 7pm deadline.

Wilson subsequently enjoying the best campaign of hisPremier League career in 2025/26. He scored 10 goals and added seven assists for Fulham, earning the club's Player of the Season award.

His performances increased interest in his services as a free agent as his Fulham contract reached its conclusion. Wilson now departs after 187 games and 36 goals across four seasons in West London.
