Leeds United end a 39-year wait for an FA Cup semi-final when they face Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday. Two more wins would bring silverware, with the winners returning in May.
yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk looks back at the route. Leeds entered in round three and have four wins on the board.
Round three brought a 3-1 comeback at Derby. Joel Piroe missed a penalty before Ben Brereton Diaz struck, then Willy Gnonto and Ao Tanaka turned it, James Justin adding stoppage-time gloss.
Birmingham hosted in round four and it finished 1-1, Lukas Nmecha scoring before Patrick Roberts’ late deflection. Leeds won 4-2 on penalties as Piroe, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Brenden Aaronson and Sean Longstaff scored, Lucas Perri saved, and Roberts missed.
Norwich were swept aside 3-0 in round five with Daniel Farke watching from the stands after a red card at Sunderland. Sean Longstaff volleyed in, Gabriel Gudmundsson netted his first Leeds goal, and Piroe curled a late third to set up a quarter-final at West Ham.
At West Ham in the quarter-final, Tanaka and a Calvert-Lewin penalty made it 2-0 before 11 minutes added time changed the mood. Mateus Fernandes and Axel Disasi forced extra-time, but Perri denied Jarrod Bowen and Pablo Felipe in the shootout, and Pascal Struijk sealed progress.
