Leeds United winger Noah Okafor, named in Switzerland’s World Cup squad, will miss today’s Jordan friendly as he manages a calf problem.

The federation announced on Saturday that Okafor is unavailable, alongside goalkeeper Gregor Kobel and midfielder Fabian Rieder.

Okafor earned a recall in March, was unused in the 4-3 defeat to Germany, then omitted from the squad for the goalless draw in Norway. He hit form late in the club season before a calf injury sidelined him for Leeds' final three Premier League matches.

Despite that setback, he has been selected by Murat Yakin for the summer World Cup. Switzerland play Jordan today then Austria next week.

Kobel, who has been recovering from flu, will be rested, with Yvon Mvogo to start and third-choice Marvin Keller planned to come on at half-time for a debut.

Rieder is out after an ankle problem in training. Yakin is not concerned about the longer-term availability of Okafor or Rieder.
