Leeds United will honour club great Mick Jones at half-time during Saturday night's Premier League meeting with Brentford at Elland Road, presenting him with a Lifetime Achievement Award and the first Leeds United Heritage Cap.
The club said in a statement that Jones will be welcomed onto the pitch with his family and asked supporters to remain in their seats at the interval to pay tribute.
Part of Don Revie's celebrated side, Jones struck the winner in the 1968 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup final, the club's first major European honour.
He helped secure the 1968/69 league title, the Charity Shield in 1969, a second Fairs Cup in 1971 and the 1972 FA Cup, then won the league again in 1973/74, finishing as the club's top scorer in both title campaigns.
Between 1967 and 1975 he made 312 appearances for Leeds, scoring 111 goals, and earned three England caps.
The presentation forms part of Marching on Forever, the former players association set up in late 2025, through which ex-players will receive specially made Heritage Caps. Leeds announced the initiative in December, with Tony Dorigo leading the group's formation.
