Leeds United have been urged by broadcaster Andy Brassell to consider a January move for Feyenoord forward Ayase Ueda as they search for more goals.
The Japan international, coached by Robin van Persie, has 19 in 21 this season and 18 league goals, more than Harry Kane on 17, Kylian Mbappe on 16 and Erling Haaland on 15. “What's remarkable about him is that he scores lots of different types of goals. He has got that presence in the box.” He was speaking on talkSPORT.
“I wonder if a bottom-half Premier League team has a dart for him next summer or maybe even as early as January. He's kind of got Leeds written all over him.”
Daniel Farke’s side have struggled to put chances away, despite an upturn with six goals in two against Chelsea and Liverpool.
The Daily Mail reports Leeds have made initial enquiries about Hibernian midfielder Josh Mulligan, with a January move under consideration and Nottingham Forest also interested. Mulligan has impressed this season and has been called up by Steve Clarke for Scotland, who he hopes to represent at their first World Cup in 28 years.
