Leicester City delivered a disciplined, organised display to take a 1-1 draw at promotion-chasing Middlesbrough, with Oliver Skipp outstanding as they earned a point.

According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, Gary Rowett made two changes from the Stoke draw, Victor Kristiansen’s injury bringing Luke Thomas back in and Bobby De Cordova-Reid replacing Jeremy Monga.

Boro began on the front foot and penned City back, but Caleb Okoli and Skipp fronted up in the rearguard. In the 18th minute Adilson Malanda fouled De Cordova-Reid, Divine Mukasa whipped in an inswinger and Okoli headed home from close range.

Two minutes into first-half added time Okoli’s pass out was picked off, Hayden Hackney fed Tommy Conway beyond Ricardo Pereira and the forward pulled back for Riley McGree to level.

Soon after the restart Luke Ayling misjudged Thomas’ punt, presenting Daka a headed chance that he steered wide with Sol Brynn stranded. Middlesbrough controlled long spells thereafter and McGree drew a sharp late stop from Begovic, yet City stayed compact to claim a hard-earned point.

Skipp took top marks with 8.5, leading by example, while Okoli scored and impressed for 47 minutes in an eight out of 10 showing. Nelson and Winks were given 7.5, as was Mukasa after his fine delivery, with De Cordova-Reid on 7. Begovic received 6.5, Thomas 7, Ricardo Pereira 6, Mavididi 6 and Daka 6.
