Lens and Strasbourg ‘to consider’ move for Benfica’s Gonçalo Oliveira | OneFootball

Gonçalo Oliveira’s Benfica future could shift at the end of the season, despite the 19-year-old centre-back being under contract until 2028.

According to Top Mercato, Lens and Strasbourg are monitoring his development and are considering a move. The Ligue 1 interest has surfaced as he gains greater competitive visibility through strong displays for Benfica B.

Wearing number 64, he has been a mainstay under Nélson Veríssimo, an undisputed starter for the B team. He has also impressed in the Youth League, enhancing his standing among the club’s prospects.

Although he trains regularly with the senior squad, Oliveira has yet to feature under José Mourinho, limited to places on the bench. That lack of top-level minutes could influence any decision on his next step, leaving a departure possible.

This season he has played 28 official matches for Benfica, 20 in Liga Portugal Meu Super and eight in the UEFA Youth League. Across 2,462 minutes he has recorded four goals and two assists, and he is valued at two million euros.
