Lens and Strasbourg ‘to evaluate’ move for Gonçalo Oliveira | OneFootball

Benfica’s teenage centre-back Gonçalo Oliveira could be on the move, with Ligue 1 interest building ahead of next season.

Top Mercato reports that Lens and Strasbourg are evaluating a deal for the 19-year-old, who has trained regularly with Benfica’s senior squad under José Mourinho.

The report adds the duo, enjoying strong domestic campaigns, have been impressed by his displays for Benfica B and the juniors, where he has featured in this season’s UEFA Youth League.

Although contracted to Benfica until the summer of 2028, a departure is gaining traction because the No 64 is understood to feel ready for regular first-team football. He is still awaiting competitive minutes under Mourinho.

This season he has played 28 official matches for the club, 20 in Liga Portugal Meu Super and eight in the UEFA Youth League, totalling 2,462 minutes. The centre-back has scored four goals and provided two assists, and is valued at two million euros.
