A new update on Lewis Hall has been reported on Thursday.
The England defender has had rotten luck with injuries for over seven months.
Injured earlier this year at Liverpool and requiring surgery, ironically/sadly missing the Carabao Cup final only a couple of weeks later against the scousers.
Since returning to the matchdays squads, Lewis Hall has had limited opportunities, Eddie Howe though explaining that he had been managing the left-back’s minutes to try and ease him back to full fitness and minimise the chance of further injury issues.
A further blow then, when Lewis Hall came on for the final 17 minutes of the Union S-G match with United already 3-0 up, Hall picking up a hamstring injury.
After an initial scan and early estimate of up to eight weeks out of action, Eddie Howe mentioned that a further re-scan would be done around 10 days later.
Craig Hope of The Mail has now reported that this second scan has been done and his information is that the new scan has brought positive news, with a return to playing action before the November international break could now be a possibility.
The stop-start nature to the early months of the season, sees matches every weekend and midweek for three weeks, then two week international break.
Brighton away on Saturday kicks of seven matches in three weeks before the November international break follows Brentford away in the Premier League on Sunday 9 November. United face Bilbao in the Champions League four days earlier on Wednesday 5 November.
Hopefully we will see Lewis Hall back in action around that time.
Easy for some to forget just how outstanding he was last season before that cruel injury ended his season in late February.
