It’s been a difficult season for Palmer, who missed virtually the entire first half of the campaign with a groin injury.
The 23-year-old returned in December and despite some good performances, most notably a hat-trick against Wolves, he’s struggled to make an impact.
Palmer admitted after the Port Vale game he’d turned a corner physically, which is certainly welcome news for Chelsea fans.
Despite his struggles he’s still scored nine league goals in 20 appearances, but if Chelsea are to finish in the top five they need more from Palmer.
Palmer has played both centrally and from the right this season, but former Blue Shaun Wright-Phillips believes he’s got to play as the number ten.
So far Rosenior has been unable to get the best out of Palmer, and when asked how to do that he shared his plan.
“You give him confidence, you point out the things he’s doing well, you point out the things that are still very, very positive in his game,” he said as quoted by The Sun.
“In terms of chance creation, I’ve gone through the stats. The chances he’s created in our difficult times were very, very high for the league. We just didn’t take the chances that he created.
I showed him that. You can over-analyse at times, but that’s not what I want Cole to do. Cole’s an intuitive player. He needs to be free to express himself to the best of his ability.”

Rosenior cast some doubt over whether Enzo Fernandez would be available for next weekend’s game against Manchester United despite serving his two game ban.
