The process accelerated on Wednesday when his work visa was published in the Diário Oficial da União. He was required to submit various documents for Brazil's migration process.

Lingard arrives after two years at FC Seoul in South Korea, where he scored 19 goals and provided 10 assists in 66 matches. His last appearance came in December 2025.

A Manchester United academy graduate, he plays as a midfielder, centrally or wide. For United he made 235 appearances, scored 35 goals and set up 21, winning the Europa League, FA Cup, EFL Cup and Community Shield. He also had loans with Leicester City, Birmingham City, Brighton & Hove Albion, Derby County and West Ham United, and later joined Nottingham Forest permanently.

His contract runs to the end of 2026, with an automatic extension to the end of 2027 if agreed targets are met. He will wear number 77.

Lingard is available for Dorival Júnior on Wednesday 1 April at 21:30, when Corinthians visit Fluminense at the Maracanã in the ninth round of the Brasileirão.
