Paris Saint-Germain are focusing on young talent, but they must balance this by bringing in experienced players who can guide and mentor them. This is likely why PSG are reportedly interested in Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.

The 32-year-old’s contract runs until 2025, meaning if PSG were to make a move, the primary concern would be his wages. Additionally, signing Salah could push Ousmane Dembélé into the No. 10 role he has played under Luis Enrique.

However, Salah’s camp may also be using PSG’s interest to negotiate a better contract extension with Liverpool. With club football back following the international break, Liverpool boss Arne Slot was asked about a contract update regarding Salah.

Still, the manager did not desire to inform the media about the situation.

“Again, I’ll give the boring answer, which you’re going to get from me as long as there’s no news about this, but we don’t talk about contract situations over here,” Slot told reporters (h/t The Mirror).

“Is it distracting? Is that the word you used for me? No, it isn’t because I’m fully focused on the individuals in the team and they’re part of the team. I’m just focused on trying to work with them in the best possible way to get the best out of them. So it’s not a distraction for me at all.”

In his latest column for CaughtOffside, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that the superstar could leave Anfield in 2025, but a new deal will be discussed.

“I think there is still a very concrete chance to see Mo Salah leaving, but what I’m sure about is that there will be conversations,” Romano said. “There will be negotiations with Liverpool so it’s not over between Liverpool and Salah. The situation is still very much open. So again, there is a possibility to leave for sure, but it’s not guaranteed.”
