Liverpool were beaten 2-1 by Brighton during their Premier League clash.
Saturday's game was a must-win situation for the Reds, especially since their last Premier League outing ended with them drawing against Tottenham.
Indeed, they upped their performance during their game against Galatasaray on Wednesday but, without Alisson and Mohamed Salah, the team's balance felt completely off.
This was one of the main reasons behind Liverpool's defeat on Saturday but, there was one good thing that came from the clash.
Ever since Salah's outburst earlier in the season, fans have been questioning who Liverpool's replacement for him will be.
Several players such as Yankuba Minteh, Yan Diomande and Rayan have all been linked but, after Minteh's performance against the Reds, it's now clear that he should be the one that Liverpool go for in the summer.
The Gambia international has been one of Brighton's most impressive players this season as the attacker has contributed to six goals across all competitions.
Fabian Hurzeler has used the 21-year-old on both wings this season which is another massive selling point.
Indeed, there are still some areas of his game that need to be worked on but, with his lightening quick speed and his final third form, it's hard to think of a better suited player to Liverpool's new system.
Slot seemingly wants his wingers to keep the width and play the ball into the box which is exactly what Minteh does.
And, unfortunately for Liverpool, his prowess in this department is what set the two teams apart.
Before Minteh joined Brighton, the Gambian was linked with an Anfield switch as they were on the lookout for impressive young talent.
In the end, a move didn't come to fruition with Minteh costing Brighton around £30 million to bring in from Newcastle.
And now, as per Sofascore, it's clear that Liverpool are paying the price.
Although he was only on the pitch for 76 minutes, the 21-year-old maintained an 86 per cent pass accuracy and managed three key passes throughout the clash.
He also managed to earn himself the best assist of the game while even getting a shot on target.
There are many reasons why Liverpool should re-enter the race for Minteh and, with the number of wingers that they've already been linked with, it would hardly be surprising to see some concrete links start to emerge.
Especially after the performance he put in at the AmEx on Saturday.
