As previously reported, Barcelona have identified Liverpool forward Luis Diaz as their top target for the left-wing this summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old attacker is seen as the absolute priority by sporting director Deco and manager Hansi Flick is also on board with the idea of incorporating him before next season.
Barça made an initial approach to Liverpool earlier this week to discuss Diaz’s signing but were rebuffed by the Premier League champions.
However, the La Liga winners are unfazed by the rejection and remain keen on signing the Colombian international, who is also a top target for Saudi Arabian giants Al-Nassr.
Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, Diaz is pushing hard to make his move to Barcelona a reality.
The Liverpool winger has made it clear that he does not see himself moving to Saudi Arabia, as his priority is to continue competing at the highest level.
Indeed, according to sources close to the player, Diaz has ruled out a move to Saudi Arabia, despite significant interest. If he leaves Liverpool, it will only be to join Barcelona.

Both he and his father have long admired the club, and with Barça now showing firm interest in signing him to strengthen their left flank, the 28-year-old is willing to do everything possible to fulfil his dream of playing at Spotify Camp Nou.
Speaking from Colombia’s training camp ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Peru, Diaz did not hide that talks are ongoing with other clubs.
Despite his openness to a move, Diaz also made it clear that he will respect his current contract, which runs until June 2027, if Liverpool do not offer a renewal.
“I’m very happy at Liverpool. They’ve treated me well since the first day. We’re talking with other clubs. It’s the transfer window, it’s normal. If Liverpool renews my contract, or if I have to stay the 2 years I have left, I’ll be happy. It’s up to them,” he said.
The Colombian forward’s comments publicly applying pressure on Liverpool are seen as an indication of his intent to support Barcelona in making the transfer happen.
