Liverpool are in talks with former Manchester City manager Gareth Taylor to take over at the club.
Taylor was dismissed by the Citizens midway through the 2024/25 campaign with the team performing below expectations in the WSL and a public spat with Chloe Kelly, who spent the second half of the campaign on loan at Arsenal before sealing a permanent move to the North London club.
Despite that ending, Taylor had been in charge of the City team that won the Women's FA Cup in 2020 and the League Cup in 2022.
According to journalist Tom Garry of The Guardian, Liverpool are now in talks with Taylor as they search for a permanent successor to Matt Beard.
Like Taylor, Beard was sacked by his club last season with Amber Whiteley taking over for the rest of the campaign.
Liverpool ended up finishing seventh in the WSL last season with 25 points, 16 points fewer than the 2023/24 season.
