Since Mane has left, Liverpool have been desperately trying to find players to replace him with. Luis Diaz did an okay job but he never hit the heights of what Mane was capable of.

There's no denying the Colombian is a player Liverpool are missing right now. Arne Slot's system relies on players with speed and directness on the wings.

He would have loved to have worked with Mane.

That's never going to happen now but there is another Mane coming through and he just announced why he could be the Senegalese international's second coming with a brilliant performance on Monday night.

Yankuba Minteh is someone who Liverpool have been scouting for several years now. The 21-year-old made a return from injury for Brighton against Bournemouth on Monday evening and entered the pitch at the 66th minute mark while his side were losing 1-0.

Minteh came on, completed six out of his nine dribble attempts, made five progressive runs and five crosses and was a constant threat on the wing.

His cameo turned the tide in the game. Minteh changed the momentum in Brighton's favour and ultimately helped his side secure a draw.

It was a phenomenal performance. The kind of performances we saw Mane produce at Southampton. Minteh using his speed and technical ability to devastating effect.

At the same age, Mane was playing for Red Bull Salzburg. Minteh already has several years of experience under his belt in the Premier League and some Champions League experience as well.

He's worked with Slot in the past at Feyenoord and he is a very similar profile to Mane in his ability to take players on and the work-rate and speed that he has.

The Gambian is more of a facilitator than a goal-scorer but that could work in Liverpool's advantage. He could provide opportunities for Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike.

Although, it's important to mention that when he played under Slot, he managed to get the best out of him in front of goal, too.

So, in a different role Minteh could thrive as a goal-scorer, too.

Overall, his performance on Monday night just confirmed that he is the closest thing to Mane since the Liverpool man left the Premier League and it should have been a come and get me plea for Richard Hughes to get this deal over the line.

A player like this belongs to Liverpool. It's inevitable that Minteh could become the next Mane at Anfield.
