Pep Guardiola is sweating on the return of several key players
Pep Guardiola will hope to have star midfielder Rodri available for selection as Man City host Everton in the Premier League this weekend.
The Spaniard was forced off in the first half with a hamstring injury as City battled to a narrow win over Brentford, and later withdrew from Spain's squad for the October international break.
Speaking after facing Brentford, though, the Spaniard played down his injury and could return to contention at the Etihad this weekend.
Here’s all the latest Man City injury news and return dates...
Rodri was forced to withdraw from Spain’s squad for the October international break after suffering a new injury against Brentford.
He completed just 22 minutes of the match and looked crestfallen as he hobbled off the pitch, with Pep Guardiola later confirming he had sustained a muscular injury.
Rodri himself added that the injury was to his hamstring and downplayed its severity, telling Sky Sports: "I felt a little bit in the hamstring - but it seems as though it's not that much.
"I stretched a bit, like in the final of the Euros [when he had to go off injured]. But the most important thing is it's not that big."
Guardiola has been cautious with Rodri’s minutes in this campaign after he tore his ACL last year, and may not want to rush his star man back.
Potential return date: October 8, vs Everton (H)

Omar Marmoush also missed the October international break after suffering a knee ligament injury while representing Egypt against Burkina Faso in September.
Guardiola had hoped to welcome him back to the fold before the break but he was not ready in time. He may now be nearing a return, though.
Despite not being fit to play, Marmoush joined up with the Egypt squad this week and was caught on camera walking freely without crutches.
Whether or not he is match fit is another question entirely.
Potential return date: Late October
Summer signing Rayan Ait-Nouri has now missed seven matches after picking up an ankle injury against Tottenham in August.
The Algerian international was not involved in World Cup qualifiers against Somalia and Uganda over the international break, and no new update on his fitness has been released.

Abdukodir Khusanov was forced off at half-time as City drew 1-1 with Arsenal in September, but is thought to be nearing a return.
Speaking after the Arsenal clash, Guardiola said he expected the Uzbekistan international to miss three matches.
He has now sat out four matches, suggesting he will be back in contention soon, though Guardiola has not issued an update on his condition.
Khusanov was not involved for Uzbekistan during their recent friendlies against Uruguay and Kuwait.
