Manchester United are said to be considering a move for Sam Johnstone, offering the 33-year-old a potential route out of Wolves after relegation to the Championship.

Gazzetta Dello Sport suggests Juventus are monitoring Emi Martinez after their push for primary target Alisson faded.

United are thought to be seeking cover for No.1 Senne Lammens, while Wolves are looking to revamp their goalkeeping department this summer.

Johnstone came through United’s academy, had loans at Walsall and Villa, then joined Albion for an initial £6.5 million in 2018.

He made 167 appearances in four years with the Baggies and spent two seasons with Crystal Palace before joining Wolves in 2024. He has made just 27 appearances at Molineux, missing the final months of this season with a shoulder injury.

Martinez appeared close to leaving Villa last summer, although the anticipated move to Manchester United never materialised. He went on to play a key role as Unai Emery’s team won the Europa League and secured a top-four Premier League finish. Villa are not actively looking to sell, but a decent offer could prompt a rethink, and no movement is expected until after the World Cup, with Martinez aiming to help Argentina defend their title.
