In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Manchester City are in a good position to land Nottingham Forest ace Elliot Anderson. It has been mentioned that the Mancunian outfit are showing interest in recruiting the English midfielder this summer.

Anderson’s Decent Numbers In English Football

Anderson is having an impressive season at Nottingham after he put in a string of influential displays for them at the centre of the park. The 23-year-old has found the back of the net twice and earned three assists in 41 matches for the Midlands club this season across all competitions.

The English talent is currently among the best central midfielders in the Premier League. Thus, Man City would do well to get him on board this off-season.

His current contract at the City Ground will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for the Mancunian giants to sign him on the cheap in the upcoming transfer period.

Is Anderson A Good Fit For Manchester City?

Anderson loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and is even proficient at playing his way out from midfield.

The English talent can shoot the ball with power from long range and is an energetic runner as well. Anderson is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also operate as a defensive midfielder or play in the number ten position if required. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Man City.

Anderson would bring more quality and depth to Pep Guardiola’s midfield department. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the Mancunian club in the coming seasons.

At 23, Anderson has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent fit for Man City to consider in the summer transfer window as long as they can get him for a reasonable fee. He might even help the Premier League side compete for some major honours over the next few years. All in all, Anderson would be a great fit for Guardiola’s needs in the long run.
