Manchester City: Erling Haaland wants to "be the leader"
Manchester City has lost several key players this summer (De Bruyne, Gündogan, Walker, Ederson, Akanji). Erling Haaland now wants to take on a leadership role at the club managed by Pep Guardiola.
Even though City has recently let some leaders go, the English club has kickstarted a new cycle with arrivals like Cherki, Aït-Nouri, Reijnders, Trafford, and Donnarumma. At 25, Erling Haaland is ready to take on more responsibility:
Many leaders have left, so those of us who have been here for years, like myself, need to step up. I have to guide the team and help the new players settle in.
The Norwegian striker emphasizes the importance of adapting to change:
We're no longer the same team, but we have different qualities. The most important thing is still to win matches and aim for trophies.
With 127 goals and 21 assists in 149 games for City already, Haaland is now establishing himself not just as a prolific scorer, but also as a dressing room leader.
