Manchester City head coach Andree Jeglertz has provided injury updates on England internationals Alex Greenwood and Grace Clinton.
The pair, both part of England’s Euro 2025-winning squad, missed City’s opener against Chelsea last week.
City return to Women’s Super League action this weekend against Brighton, who were held to a goalless draw by Aston Villa in their opening game.
Speaking to the media, Jeglertz provided injury updates on Manchester City pair Clinton and Greenwood.
There was mixed injury updates in Manchester City head coach Andree Jeglertz’s press conference on Wednesday.
He gave a positive update surrounding defender Greenwood ahead of their clash with the Seagulls.
However, fans hoping to see new signing Clinton might have to wait a little longer.
Jeglertz said: “Alex [Greenwood] is back in training again,” our Head Coach confirmed.
“[Grace] She’s progressing slowly, but isn’t ready yet. We don’t think [she will play].”
Clinton and Jess Park completed cross-Manchester switches on deadline day, with the latter joining Manchester United.
Park has already made her Manchester United debut, though Clinton has a wait on her hands to wear the colours of Man City.
However, the news that Greenwood is back in training is a boost for City, after their 2-1 loss to Chelsea last week.
Andree Jeglertz also provided injury updates on a number of other Manchester City players during his press conference.
Lily Murphy was forced off with a shoulder injury during the defeat to Chelsea last week.
Jeglertz said that the club are still waiting on a review from injury consultants to determine how much action the young winger will miss.
He said: “I think it’s too early to say (when Murphy will return). They are looking to get the review and we just need to wait until that is done.”
Jeglertz hinted that Kerolin and Aoba Fujino could be included in some capacity against the Seagulls.
The head coach also said that summer signing Rebecca Knack is ‘progressing quickly’ in her recovery from injury.
“They are progressing quickly, all three of them,” he said during his press conference.
“We will see if they are ready this weekend, but slowly they are getting there. Especially Kerolin and Fujino are not thar far away.”
