Manchester City are in advanced talks to sign Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo in the winter transfer window, per BBC Sport. 

Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea also made enquiries, but the 25-year-old wants to join City. 

United’s interest cooled because they expect the Ghana international to join City, while Chelsea decided not to pursue a deal. 

Liverpool have asked about the transfer conditions, but it is unclear if they will make a move. Tottenham’s chances of signing Semenyo are slim. 

Semenyo has been one of the standout players in the Premier League this term, bagging eight goals and three assists in 16 appearances. 

Bournemouth’s want to keep the winger until the summer, but they are powerless to prevent him from leaving due to the £65 million release clause in his contract. 

Semenyo is a versatile forward who can play on both wings and as a striker. He is highly rated for his pace, strength and directness. 

City are in the Premier League title race with Arsenal, and signing him would boost their chances of success this season. 

They are currently just two points behind the Gunners in the league table after a run of five consecutive wins.
