Manchester United have been handed a fitness lift before Monday’s visit of Leeds United, with Lisandro Martinez back in full training, according to Manchester World.

The centre-back has missed the last five games with a calf injury and, barring setbacks, is set to be available at Old Trafford.

On Sunday Leeds reached the FA Cup semi-finals, winning 4-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw at West Ham.

United are at a Dublin training camp and held an open session on Tuesday.

Martinez joined from Ajax for £56.7million in 2022. His lay-off reached six weeks and he missed Argentina duty in March.

Michael Carrick will be without Harry Maguire, who serves a one-match ban after a straight red card against Bournemouth before the break.

Martinez is likely to partner Leny Yoro against Leeds, facing a physical test from Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who scored from the spot in normal time and again in Sunday’s shootout.

Patrick Dorgu continued individual rehabilitation from a hamstring issue and has missed eight games. Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo are in Dublin and expected to be fit, while Matthijs De Ligt did not travel with a back problem that has kept him out since November.

Leeds have fitness concerns. Anton Stach limped off at West Ham with a suspected ankle ligament issue, Joe Rodon was also withdrawn after an awkward fall, Gabriel Gudmundsson was not risked and Daniel James is expected to miss out with an adductor strain.
