Manchester United have been scouting Levante forward Karl Etta Eyong, according to journalist and transfer insider Ben Jacobs.
The Red Devils keep scouring Europe for the best players available as they look to strengthen across all departments at Old Trafford, and the Cameroon international has caught their eye.
Man United bolstered their attack during the summer transfer window, adding Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko to their ranks.
Etta Eyong, who has been dubbed a ‘born finisher’ is now on their radar, but they will face competition from the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona for his services.
“They are looking at younger players as well, like Etta Eyong is somebody that Manchester United have scouted,” Jacobs said on The United Stand today.
The 21-year-old bagged 19 goals and six assists in 30 appearances for Villarreal B in the third tier of the Spanish football league system in 2024-25 and has notched five goals and three assists so far this term.
He made his debut for Cameroon yesterday, playing alongside Mbeumo against Mauritius in a World Cup qualifier, and both players could become teammates at club level if Man United decide to make a firm approach for him.
Etta Eyong’s strengths include his aerial brilliance in front of goal, finishing, passing and defensive contributions, and his style fits into the system of Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim.
It remains to be seen whether Man United will attempt to go after him in January with Joshua Zirkzee linked with a potential mid-season exit.
Etta Eyong joined Levante a few months ago and the La Liga club will unlikely be open to selling him during the winter transfer window.
However, a summer deal next year cannot be ruled out but Man United could find it tricky to land him if he continues scoring at this rate.
