Serie A giants Napoli tried to sign Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo in the summer. Little time was left in the window but they could now return to the fray for the Englishman.
The youngster is yet to start even once in the Premier League under Ruben Amorim and Gazzetta dello Sport take a look at his situation.
They note that Mainoo is pushing to leave Manchester United to seek more game time ahead of the World Cup.
The midfielder was interested in a summer move. But at the last minute, Napoli’s plans changed due to Romelu Lukaku’s injury and they signed Rasmus Hojlund. Mainoo has been monitored by Giovanni Manna for a long time and they will attempt to sign him on an initial loan deal in January.
Napoli CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis isn’t looking to grant Manchester United any guarantees over a permanent move. The report believes that a deal will only be possible if the Red Devils agree to this condition, as Napoli only want to give Mainoo a chance to play at the World Cup next year.
