In a recent print edition, Italian outlet Corriere di Bologna (24 July, Page 6) mentioned that Manchester United have set their sights on Bologna winger Jonathan Rowe. It has been claimed that the Red Devils are eyeing a move to bring the English wide player to Old Trafford this summer.

Rowe’s Impressive Numbers In Serie A

Rowe enjoyed a good run of form at Bologna in the previous campaign when he put in a string of impressive displays for them on the left flank. The English talent registered eight goals and picked up five assists in 44 matches for the Italian outfit last season across all competitions.

The 23-year-old is currently among the most talented wingers in Serie A. Therefore, Man United would do well to secure his services in this transfer window.

His current contract at the Italian club will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for the Red Devils to sign him on a cut-price deal this off-season.

Rowe is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can cause a few problems for his marker out on the flanks. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and can shoot the ball with venom from long range.

The English sensation did well to add a handful of goals and assists to his game last season. Rowe is primarily a left-winger but can also serve as an attacking midfielder or as a right-sided wide player if told to do so. However, there are some question marks over whether he can adapt to the physicality and high intensity of the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to sign him later this year.

We can expect Rowe to bring more quality and depth to Man United boss Michael Carrick’s frontline. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team place at Old Trafford in the coming years.
