Manchester United are being linked with a move to sign Udinese centre-back Oumar Solet, just two months after the defender joined the Italian side on a free transfer.
Solet signed for Udinese from Red Bull Salzburg on a pre-contract agreement in October before linking up with the club in January. He’s made an impressive start to life in Serie A, for an Udinese side who have won four of their last five league games.
Although a limited sample of 10 league games, Solet leads all centre-backs in Italy’s top division for successful take-ons per game. He also ranks in the top 10% for ball recoveries, blocks, shot-creating actions and completed long passes per 90.
The 25-year-old’s form has piqued the interest of Manchester United and West Ham, according to Italian outlet Messaggero Veneto. However, despite being available for nothing just a matter of months ago, any deal now will cost the Premier League duo around €40m (£33m).
Manchester United are weighing up centre-back signings, with Victor Lindelof set to leave as a free agent and Lisandro Martinez currently sidelined with an ACL injury.
