Gianluca Mancini underlined Italy’s determination ahead of their crucial World Cup qualifier against Israel, insisting the Azzurri must treat every match as a final in their push for a playoff spot.
Speaking in the pre-match press conference, the Roma defender said the team are fully aware of the challenge awaiting them and must remain focused on their own progress under Gennaro Gattuso.
“Yes, for us every game must be like a final,” Mancini said, with quotes via AlfredoPedulla.com.

“When you wear this shirt, that’s even more true. It’s an important match against a tough team – we saw that in the first meeting and we know what to expect.”
Asked whether Italy already feel ready for the playoffs, Mancini warned against looking too far ahead. “Until mathematics rules us out, we can’t talk about it,” he noted.
“I don’t feel stronger than anyone – every match has to be fought and sweated for. We can’t think too far forward; we must focus on ourselves and what we’re building with the coach, step by step, to create something important.”

The defender also highlighted Israel’s attacking qualities, pointing out his past experience against one of their key players.
“I know Solomon best,” he added. “I played against him when he was at Shakhtar. In the first leg we saw they’re an organised side with real quality up front, so we’ll need to be alert to contain them.”
