Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich extend until 2027 | OneFootball

FC Bayern will be relying on its tried-and-trusted goalkeeping duo for another season after Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich extended their stays until 30 June 2027. Together with Jonas Urbig, the pair form a trio that will continue to operate as a well-established goalkeeping unit in the coming season.

Manuel Neuer: “I took my time over the decision and am now very happy. Everything is just right here: with this team, we can beat anyone; I enjoy going to Säbener Straße every day and I’m performing to the best of my ability. In our goalkeeping team, we stick together and try to keep raising the bar, constantly pushing each other and preparing ourselves as well as possible for the games.”

Sven Ulreich: “I’m really delighted: I feel great, I’m still really keen on football – and I’ve simply grown to love FC Bayern. We’ve got a fantastic squad with a brilliant coaching team, and it’s great fun every day, not least within our goalkeeping team. It’s wonderful to see how everything keeps developing, and I’m sure we’ll be in with a chance of achieving everything again next season.”

Manuel Neuer has been an FC Bayern goalkeeper since the summer of 2011 and has led the team out onto the pitch as captain since 2017. He has celebrated the treble of the Champions League, the league title and the DFB Cup twice (2013, 2020), as well as winning the Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup twice in the same years. To date, the 40-year-old has won the Bundesliga title 13 times, the DFB Cup six times and the DFL Supercup eight times. He has made 597 competitive appearances for FC Bayern to date along with 124 appearances for the German national team, and he won the World Cup in 2014. Neuer has been voted IFFHS World Goalkeeper of the Year five times, as well as World’s Best Man Goalkeeper of the Decade for 2011 to 2020, European Goalkeeper of the Year and German Footballer of the Year on two occasions.

Sven Ulreich has won ten Bundesliga titles, three DFB Cups and six Supercups with FC Bayern to date. He was also part of the squad that won the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup in 2020. The 37-year-old has been with the Munich club since 2015, spending just the 2020/21 season on loan at Hamburger SV. He has made 104 appearances in goal for the record German champions  to date.
