According to Nosso Palestra, Marcelo Lomba missed Palmeiras' first training sessions after the World Cup pause for personal reasons, and is expected to rejoin the squad in the coming days.
The squad reconvened on Wednesday 24 June, then underwent medicals and worked on the pitch on Thursday 25.
Besides the goalkeeper, seven World Cup call-ups and Agustín Giay, who stayed on with Argentina for a few days, were also absent.
Lomba, deputy to Carlos Miguel, is contracted until the end of 2026, his deal has been renewed annually. There is no decision yet, though the current indication is that the No 14 will not remain in 2027.
Goalkeeper Kaique, back from Nacional in Portugal, returned with the group on Wednesday. The academy product is in the coaching staff's plans, and any move would be considered only if an excellent offer suits all parties.
Fellow goalkeeper Aranha, a youth graduate, is in talks with clubs in Portugal. Moreirense have shown interest and could push on, with a decision expected in the coming days.
