Marco Silva has an agreement with Benfica to take charge and is expected to be presented next week, with official confirmation linked to Real Madrid’s presidential election on Sunday, 7 June.

According to A Bola, the Portuguese coach is already discreetly assisting with transfer business and pre-season planning, albeit without visiting the club’s facilities.

An early decision is said to involve the departure of Sidny Lopes Cabral. Silva is understood to have approved the Cape Verde international’s move to Trabzonspor, delivering a significant fee only months after his arrival from Estrela da Amadora.

Fulham have confirmed Silva’s exit, drawing a line under a spell that began in 2021/22. He has also bade farewell to supporters and the London club, thanking them for their backing across five seasons in charge.

The agreement with Benfica is fully in place, with only José Mourinho’s situation to be resolved before any unveiling. Florentino Pérez is expected to confirm Mourinho’s return to Real Madrid after Sunday’s vote, if he is re-elected.
