According to Correio da Manhã, Marco Silva wants to take Fulham forward Harry Wilson to Benfica, with the winger’s deal expiring at the end of June. A free transfer would allow him to arrive at the Estádio da Luz potentially alongside the coach.

Wilson, 29, was Fulham’s leading Premier League scorer under Silva last season with 10 goals in 36 matches and added seven assists.

Beyond Wilson, Jorge Cuenca has also re-emerged as a target in recent days. The Spanish defender, who has previously worked with Silva, is viewed as a versatile option to strengthen Benfica’s central defence.

In parallel, the Portuguese coach is involved in managing the current squad, with a focus on Georgiy Sudakov. While the Ukrainian midfielder was initially considered negotiable by José Mourinho, Silva’s arrival could alter that stance, as he sees Sudakov as potentially important next season.

For now, Benfica intend to keep the core of the squad intact until the official start of the campaign. The plan is to let Silva, who is increasingly close to taking charge, assess the group before definitive decisions on arrivals and departures.
