Chelsea are lining up against Liverpool later today, and we can’t wait.
It’s going to be a really interesting game – Chelsea are missing a lot of players and have had some bad recent league results, and they face a table topping Liverpool team.

However the Reds have lost two games in a row, having previously been sneaking wins with late goals. There’s a sense that they’re far more vulnerable than they appeared a few weeks ago. It’s just a question of how Chelsea can hurt them.
Without Cole Palmer there’s a real lack of goals in this team, and a spate of injuries at the back means keeping a clean sheet could prove difficult too.
Enzo Maresca has clearly decided it’s a good idea to mix things up, and he’s dropped an interesting move we’ve not seen from him before.
The Chelsea official Twitter account showed the players heading out to train yesterday as usual. But what was interesting was that they weren’t at Cobham – they were at Stamford Bridge.
That’s not common at all teams train at the opponent’s stadium the day before a match in Europe, but it’s unusual to see players at their home stadium training, especially in a league game.
It’s clearly not a “break glass in case of emergency” situation, but it’s very interesting to see Maresca has reached for this card now. Perhaps it’s because he knows he will have a very shaky central defensive partnership, whether he chooses to pick Jorrel Hato or Josh Acheampong alongside a rusty Benoit Badiashile.
Perhaps he feels there’s a chance to get a season defining win against a struggling Reds team. Either wat, it was eyebrow raising and we’re looking forward to seeing what effect it has.
