Mario Cortegana reveals Real Madrid stance on Michael Olise transfer | OneFootball

After the painful experience of going the last two seasons without any major trophy, Real Madrid seem quite serious to return to winning ways. They have already shown their intent by bringing in a new coach, Jose Mourinho, and by signing four new players only a few days after the end of the last season, i.e., Marc Cucurella, Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konate, and Bernardo Silva.

Going forward, they are expected to make some more signings, as Mourinho wants another center-back and midfielder. However, they are also constantly being linked with the Bayern Munich star Michael Olise, amid conflicting reports coming about their interest in him.

In such a context, Mario Cortegana of The Athletic reports that Los Blancos’ plans about the French forward are the same as they expressed in their official statement about the player they published some weeks ago. In that official statement, the Merengues had made it clear that they were not in negotiations with Olise, and will not enter such negotiations without first informing Bayern Munich.

Cortegana goes on to claim that sources close to the club clarify that the Merengues also do not see an operation to sign him this summer as feasible. Recently, the Bavarians had reiterated that their star forward is not up for sale, and they also featured the Frenchman prominently in their next season’s kit reveal video.

These recent updates make it quite clear that Michael Olise is almost impossible to join Real Madrid this season. After the World Cup heartbreak, he will be looking to relax during his three weeks of vacation, and then return to Bayern Munich to prepare for the next season. The Bavarians are also looking to renew his contract, and it remains to be seen whether the two parties would agree to a renewal, and whether a door will remain open for his move to the Merengue club next summer.
