The Zimbabwean star is saddened by what happened.

Marshall Munetsi is sad to have missed out on the AFCON opportunity!
Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Marshall Munetsi has posted an emotional message on Facebook expressing his disappointment with the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) for ignoring his club's communication regarding his fitness and for making the decision to exclude him from the national team's 2025 Africa Cup of Nations squad based on "speculation."
The 29-year-old wrote: "This is heartbreaking. Representing the national team has always been a dream, and wearing our colors is the greatest honor of my career. The Africa Cup of Nations would have been especially significant."
He further explained the situation: "I recently suffered an injury, but my club, Wolverhampton, contacted the association and informed them that I was recovering well and even provided medical support to ensure my participation in the tournament. Unfortunately, I received no follow-up communication, and decisions were made without any clarity – based on speculation, which was not the case."
Munetsi concluded his statement by reaffirming his loyalty: "Although I am hurting, my unwavering support for the national team remains strong. I respect the coach's decisions and stand behind my teammates wholeheartedly. I will always be ready to defend the country I love."
Munetsi is one of several key players missing from the Warriors' roster. Coach Mario Marineca omitted Walter Musona due to physical reasons, while Khama Billiat declined to participate. Terrance Dzvokamanga is also absent due to injury, and Thandolwinkosi Ngwenya is unavailable due to fitness concerns.
On the other hand, the final roster included some positive surprises with the inclusion of TS Galaxy striker Junior Zendoga and former JDR Stars player Ismail Wade.
