Franco Mastantuono has opened the door to a move to Fiorentina, with the Viola closing in on a loan deal for the Real Madrid teenager.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, and as reported by Fabrizio Romano, the Argentine has given his backing to a switch to Florence, leaving the negotiation in its final and most delicate phase.

Fiorentina have long admired the winger and have moved to the front of the queue, helped by the strong relationship between sporting director Fabio Paratici and the Real Madrid hierarchy.

The one outstanding issue is how the two clubs will split payment of his wages during the loan, an obstacle both sides are confident of overcoming.

Mastantuono seeks regular football away from Real Madrid

The logic behind the move is straightforward.

Considered one of the most exciting emerging talents in world football only a year ago, Mastantuono endured a testing first season at the Bernabéu, managing just three goals and an assist in 35 appearances, and is now seeking the regular football his development requires.

Real Madrid, for their part, favour a temporary exit to aid that growth. Fiorentina can offer guaranteed minutes and lean on their existing rapport with the Spanish club, though competition remains fierce, with Milan, Roma, Benfica and clubs from the Premier League and LaLiga all monitoring the situation.
