Match Preview: Brentford Women face Newhaven in League Cup quarter-final

The clash is the first of a two-game week against Newhaven, as the Bees will travel to Fort Road Recreation Ground on 8 February to face them again, with that match being in the league.
Sunday will be the west Londoners' first of February, a month that will end with a return to Gtech Community Stadium to face Saltdean United.
Brentford cruised to a 7-0 league win over Ebbsfleet United at Bedfont last time out.
Freya Worsley opened the scoring with Asees Sangha adding a brace before half-time.
Chelsie Berry netted inside 30 seconds of the restart, before Marta Boabonay, Renai McCrea and Maï Louvrier added a goal each to complete the scoring.
Previously against Newhaven, Williams’ side dominated en route to a 4-0 league win at home.
Habeebat Gbajabiamila, Alissa Down, McCrea and Ashley Cheatley each scored as Brentford secured their first victory at home for the season.
Newhaven come into Sunday’s fixture sat 11th in the league table with two wins and 10 losses.
While currently in the relegation zone, Newhaven sit one point below Sport London E Benfica and have four games in hand.
Newhaven go into this weekend's tie fresh from a 1-0 success over Sport London and previously enjoyed wins over Montpelier Villa (4-2) and Bexhill United (4-0) in the earlier rounds of the League Cup.
To all fans heading to Bedfont on Sunday, please be aware that there is limited parking available at the venue.
Public transport is available. Hatton Cross train station is a 10-minute walk away, while bus services are also available along Hatton Road.
Entry to the game is free, and the entrance to Bedfont is located on Hatton Road. There is plenty of seating available for fans around the pitch as well as standing room.

The Bees sit two points clear at the summit, with Hammersmith Reserves, who have played two more games to date, in second.
The west Londoners’ dominated last time out, beating Kenningwell 7-0 away from home.
Boabonay starred with her third hat-trick of the season, while Leah Robertson, Rems Gardner, Rebekah Edwards and Justine Buckmire also netted in the win.
Kenningwell sit seventh in the league table following five wins, a draw and six losses.
After ending 2025 with a 2-1 win over Civil Service, Kenningwell have started 2026 with three-consecutive defeats across all competitions.
Bethany Waring has starred up front for Kenningwell with 16 goals so far this season.
